Humco compounding bases have evolved to aid preparation of the array of dosage forms prepared by pharmacist which include; pain management, topical gels and creams, and hormone replacement therapy.

Base Selection

Bases are selected according to delivery:

• Oil-in-Water Emulsion Bases (HRT Botanical and HRT Heavy) - incorporate both water-in-oil and oil-soluble dermal ingredients with sustained skin penetration to the skin.
• Liposomal Bases (LipoBase Regular and LipoBase Heavy) - incorporate oil-soluble transdermal ingredients with penetration through the skin.
• Lecithin Oranogel Bases- incorporate both water-and-oil-soluble transdermal ingredients with rapid skin penetration through the skin.

1. SaltStable LO- incorporates high-load hydrophilic actives
2. PENcream- incorporates combination hydrophilic/lipophilic actives
3. PLO Regular and Flowable- incorporates high-load lipophilic actives
